Southern Tier Community Health Center Network, Inc. (STCHCN) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to assume responsibility of its operations in the two-county region of Cattaraugus County and Allegany County, in New York State. The principal office is located in Olean, N.Y. STCHCN is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a mission to provide excellent health care to all who seek our services. There are four (4) clinic sites spanning the two counties that provide primary medical care, integrated behavioral health services, care management services and dental services to over 10,000 patients annually.
STCHCN is proud to have been the recipient of the Health Resource and Services Administration's (HRSA) National Quality Award each year of the award’s existence. In addition, STCHCN has expanded steadily since becoming a Federal grantee in 2012 to just shy of $10 million in annual operating revenue in 2017.
The CEO must be knowledgeable of New York State's healthcare transformation initiative and understand environmental factors that will impact the delivery of care.
The CEO must be able to guide the Board and staff through the anticipated healthcare transformations and planned growth.
The CEO is responsible for the administration and operational oversight of the organization, including the responsibility of a staff of over 80 employees.
The CEO is responsible for providing strategic oversight of the clinical operations, ensuring adherence with the federal grant awards, preparing the organization for transition into a "value-based" reimbursement model, and overseeing all other regulatory responsibilities.
The CEO is responsible for cultivating relationships throughout Western New York (and New York State), including (but not limited to) other health care entities, community organizations, community leaders, government entities and hospitals.
The CEO is responsible for developing and managing Strategic Alliances.
STCHCN is located in beautiful Cattaraugus County, which offers many natural amenities including the availability of Allegany State Park for year-round outdoor activities as well as nearby Chautauqua and Cuba Lakes for summer activities. In winter, the quaint town of Ellicottville, NY, boasts two ski resorts and has been nicknamed the “Aspen of the East” for its quality skiing and excellent amenities. Olean, NY is nestled in the beautiful Enchanted Mountains with a high quality hospital and many specialty physician offices in the area. In addition, it is the home of St. Bonaventure University and Jamestown Community College which offer an array of educational, cultural and artistic opportunities.

Located in western New York, STCHCN serves over 10,000 patients annually through four delivery sites. Its Olean site is its largest, home to over 7,000 patients. The region is renowned for its outdoor activities including camping, cycling, running and swimming in summer and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in winter at nearby Allegany State Park and downhill skiing available at Holiday Valley Ski Resort and HoliMont in Ellicottville, N.Y. Surrounding the nearby village of Allegany, N.Y., is a biking trail that connects Olean and Allegany as well as St. Bonaventure University, a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Entertainment and shopping are also availble at the nearby Seneca Allegany Casino, Seneca Niagara Casino, the Chautauqua Institution, and many others in the Buffalo, Rochester, Niagara Falls, Erie, and Syracuse.
Physicians selected to join STCHCN's dynamic health care team will have a unique opportunity to serve as a volunteer faculty member and physician advisor to one of the four University of Buffalo Family Medicine residents who complete their final two years' of residency at STCHCN's Olean site. The close-knit medical team also includes four other family medicine physicians (three with surgical obstetrics fellowship training); one internal medicine physician; three certified nurse midwives; three nurse practitioners; and three physician assistants. Our dynamic model includes one psychologist, two licensed clinical social workers, three registered nurse care managers, two registered nurse community health workers, and an enabling staff. Our Houghton site also offers on-site dental services.
STCHCN provides a competitive salary structure and exceptional benefits including guaranteed student loan repayment of $25,000 per year for qualified candidates as well as up to a 6% match to a qualified retirement investment account.
