Maternal and Infant Health Collaborative Program

Ther Maternal and Infant Health Collaborative (MIHC) is a New York State Department of Health funded initiative for women of childbearing age and their families that serves Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties.  Our goal is to reduce preterm births, reduce low birth weight, reduce infant mortality, reduce maternal complications and mortality, increase immunization rates in children, and increase attendance to well-child visits.


The Maternal and Infant Health Collaborative is committed to: 

  • Promoting healthy lifestyle opportunities for women of child bearing age and their families
  • Find and engage high need women and their families in health insurance, healthcare, adn other needed community services
  • Support and improve maternal and infant health

Services Provided:

  • Home visitng program to help promote healthy pregnancies and healthy babies
  • Getting health insurance for you and your baby
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Assistance to obtain community services
  • Family planning and birth control options
  • Pregnancy and parenting education
  • Assistance with smoking cessation before, during  and after pregnancy
  • Work one-on-one with you to help you achieve your goals
